Our Board

Our Board sets our strategy, and provides scrutiny, oversight and governance across all our work.

Our Board holds the executive team to account on delivering our aims, objectives and priorities to meet the requirements set out in the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020 and our wider public sector duties.

As a Board we are passionate that:

Our work is informed by the people living in Wales. We work directly and with others to identify the PEOPLE’S PRIORITIES.

We want to be an organisation where inclusivity, integrity, compassion and mutual respect drives all that we do. We will work with our people to develop this approach.

Our focus is on building  relationships with a wide range of   people, community representative groups and organisations so that we can work together to use our collective resources to make a difference.

It is vitally important to us that we maintain our independence to most effectively communicate the views of the people and communities of Wales.

Our Meetings

We want people to be as involved as possible in Llais and so we hold our  quarterly Board meetings in public at different locations around Wales, which anyone can join, in person or online using Microsoft Teams. When choosing where we hold our meetings we will consider public transport access and accessibility standards to make sure as many people as possible can attend in person if they want to.

The location and details of each public Board meeting will be listed below as soon as they are known, please click on the dates below to find out more detail about each date.

Simultaneous translation (English and Welsh) would be provided so people can listen and communicate in their chosen language.

Please let us know as early as possible if you are planning to attend, and if you have any particular communication needs that we can help with. You can do this by emailing [email protected].

There will be an opportunity for questions from the public at each of our meetings. The Chairperson will invite questions from those who have attended in person and answer written questions sent in advance. If you would like to submit written questions ahead of the meeting you can send them to us at [email protected] up to 2 working days in advance of the meeting.

Our agendas and meeting papers

The agenda for each of the quarterly Board meetings will be included on the website below. Agendas will be available 5 working days ahead of the meeting.

Whilst we figure out the best way to communicate the activities of our Board activities our meeting papers will not be published on this website, but you can request them by emailing [email protected]. You can ask for information about the things that will be discussed at the meeting in both Welsh and English and other community languages.

We are passionate about making our activities accessible to as many people as we can, this includes the work of our Board. As we are a new organisation, we have an opportunity to do things differently so we are currently considering how we communicate our Board activities (including what happens at our meetings). We know that accessibility will mean different things to different people with differing needs. There is not a one size fits all approach. This is why we are currently asking people to tell us how they want to work with us and we would like to hear from you about the best way for us to communicate our Board meetings.
If you have an idea - Let us know what you think. Or email us [email protected]

The views and experiences people have shared with us are discussed and decisions are made about different aspects of our work. Individuals’ confidentiality is, naturally, maintained at all times.
