New podcast episode explores meaningful citizen engagement in health and social care
We’re continuing the conversation about the future of health and social care in Wales with episode three of our video podcast series In Conversation With…
In this latest episode, Llais Chief Executive Alyson Thomas is joined by Noreen Blanluet, co-founder of the Co-production Network for Wales, to explore what meaningful citizen engagement really looks like in practice.
Together, they discuss why engagement should be more than a box-ticking exercise, how organisations can better reach underrepresented communities, and why trust, relationships and follow-through matter just as much as listening itself.
The conversation also explores:
- The difference between engagement and co-production
- Power imbalance in health and social care
- Designing services around lived experience
- Why feedback must lead to visible action and change
Episode three builds on the themes explored in the first two episodes of In Conversation With…
- Episode one introduced the role of Llais and how people’s experiences help shape accountability and improvement across health and social care services in Wales.
- Episode two focused on The Health and Social Care We Want project and how inclusive engagement helped gather views from communities across Wales.
Together, the series explores how listening to people’s experiences can help shape a better future for health and social care in Wales.
