New director of people and resources joins Llais
Following a competitive recruitment process, Llais has appointed a new corporate director of people and resources to its executive team.
From Monday 27 April, Jason Smith will have responsibility for leading people, culture, resources, governance, finance, sustainability, digital, estates and organisational development.
Since July 2022, Jason has been a member of Llais’s board and sat on the audit, risk and assurance committee. As he joins Llais as a corporate director, he has stood down from this role.
Until recently, Jason was also a freelance leadership and project consultant working with a range of charities, housing associations and local authorities alongside his role as chief operating officer at Better Story.
With a career that has spanned health and social care, housing support services, operations and growth in Wales, Jason brings valuable experience to the executive team.
“Sitting on the Board I’ve got to know Llais well,” Jason said. “I have seen firsthand how vital the work we do is for the people of Wales, how we have grown over the past few years, and where we have opportunities to develop for the future.”
“I’m looking forward to working with the whole team from a new perspective, and contributing to achieving our important goals.”
Alyson Thomas, chief executive of Llais, said: “Jason joins as corporate director at an important moment for Llais.
As we begin the final year of our three-year strategic plan – and start to plan the next three – he brings fresh skills to our executive team and a perspective that will help us grow and improve as an organisation. Jason also brings a long-standing commitment to helping people have their say on the issues that matter most to them, shaped by extensive lived-experience work throughout his career."
